Yesterday's International Women's Day was a global celebration of the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements for women. The day is also a call to action and this year's theme was #PressforProgress, a push for gender parity worldwide.

At Civic Center Plaza, supporters gathered for a rally to hear speakers from several organizations, including Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense, Senior and Disability Action, Mujer Unidos, NARAL Pro Choice America, Senior and Disability Action, Queer Cultural Center, CFA (California Faculty Association), GABRIELA (grassroots Filipino women's org), Global Women’s Strike, United Educators San Francisco, Housing Rights Committee, and SF Tenants Union.
