Looking to chow down on some New American cuisine? This spot has you covered. Situated at 812 7th St. NW. (between N. H St. & N. I St.) in downtown, the new arrival is called Yard House.
With locations throughout the country, the opening marks the restaurant group's DC debut. It offers something for most everyone to enjoy, with around 100 American-style dishes and more beers than that on tap.
Menu items include a variety of snacks, appetizers, entrees and desserts such as Wisconsin fried cheese curds served with honey hot sauce and horseradish aïoli; Nashville hot chicken with fried sage, sweet potato pancakes, pickles, ranch dressing and honey hot sauce; and a s'mores brownie with graham cracker crust and roasted marshmallows. (You can check out the full menu here.)
With a four-star rating out of 20 reviews on Yelp so far, Yard House has made a promising start.
Bobbie P., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on April 18, said: "Tons of TV's, older crowd, incredible bar, and clean bathrooms. Our food came out hot and delicious. And of course overall the drinks were the highlight. Go here for the beer, comfortable atmosphere and of course the food.... but the beer specifically."
Yelper Kassandra L. added: "We love their version of the California roll. It's more of a stacked pizza thing and very delicious. I have to say that the customer service at the DC location was superb. From the minute we walked in until the second we left, everyone was very happy and polite. They definitely look like they love their job and are happy there. Love this restaurant!”
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Yard House is open from 11 a.m.–1 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 11 a.m.–1:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
