SF Weekend: Earth Day, 4/20 Parties, Cosmic Wonder, Pizza Fest, MorePhoto: Kevin Gill/Flickr

It's another sunny spring weekend with plenty to do as the city gears up for Earth Day and 4/20 Day celebrations.

Follow up Sunday's celebration of our planet with a musical excursion next week through our solar system: from April 26th–29th, the SF Symphony will perform Cosmic Wonders.

The concert will showcase The Planets, an orchestral suite written by English composer Gustav Holst that paints vivd portraits of each celestial body (that was known at the time). Performances include equally ethereal selections from Wagner and Liszt.

Fans of John Williams (Superman, Jaws, Star Wars) will recognize how Holst's out-of-this world classic influenced the modern composer who wrote the theme to Lost In Space.

Cosmic Wonders lifts off at 8pm on Thursday, April 26th, and Friday, April 27th, plus a 2pm matinee on Sunday, April 29th at Davies Symphony Hall. Tickets are available online now.

Tonight, shop at Mission Community Market to find goods from local farmers and businesses, or watch the Botanical Gardens transform into a beer garden, complete with samples from local breweries and food trucks.

There's plenty of 4/20 Day festivities to check out tomorrow, including the annual all-day celebration at Hippie Hill, food truck specials in Mission Bay and SoMa, a celebration of cannabis culture in Dolores Park, a themed 10+ course dinner in Nob Hill, and an art critique comedy show in the Castro.

Elsewhere, learn everything you wanted to know about bugs—and taste a few—at the Randall Museum, join a crosstown bike ride to learn more the Heron's Head area or celebrate the 10th anniversary of the popular Muni Diaries in the Mission.

Keep the fun going on Sunday with with a pizza party in SoMa, a vegetarian burger unveiling in Cole Valley and the opening day of the free Golden Gate Park Band Sunday concerts.
