Looking to chow down on some Cuban fare? A new spot in the French Quarter has you covered. The new addition is called Manolito and is located at 508 Dumaine St.
The classic Cuban cafe and bar, founded by well known NOLA bartenders Nick Detrich and Chris Hannah, was inspired by Havana’s El Floridita, the bar much loved by Ernest Hemingway. Manolito's food and drinks are meant to mirror the authentic flavors of the island.
As far as cocktails go, expect Havana favorites like the Floridita Daiquiri and Chris Hannah’s famous mojito made with Bacardi Maestro, mint, lime, soda and angostura bitters. Manolito wouldn’t be complete without Hemingway’s favorite Papa Doble made with Paranubes rum, Don Q Cristal, grapefruit and maraschino liqueur.
With three reviews on Yelp thus far, Manolito currently has a five-star rating.
PB., who was the first Yelper to review the new spot on April 5, said, "Tiny little place, but don't let that stop you. Service was top notch. We had the mojito and freshly squeezed strawberry daiquiri- both were fantastic. For our meal, we had the ceviche and chicken cordon bleu."
"This place was awesome. Fine craft cocktails. Awesome small plates. Lilly from Eugene is a master of cocktails," writes John W.
Head on over to check it out: Manolito is open from 5 p.m.–11 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday and 11 a.m.–11 p.m. on Wednesday-Sunday.
