Craving sushi and sashimi?

1. Ginko

Topping the list is the tucked-away Ginko, a Dante Boccuzzi-owned sushi joint downstairs from the well-known area chef's eponymous Dante restaurant. Located at 2247 Professor Ave. in Tremont, Ginko is the top-rated high-end sushi spot in Cleveland, boasting 4.5 stars out of 240 reviews on Yelp.

The intimate space has a colorful mosaic wall, long counter and only a handful of tables. Start off with spicy scallop chips, blistered shishito peppers or truffled miso soup with lobster. Notable sushi offerings include the Ginko roll (tuna, salmon, hamachi, avocado, cucumber, kaiware sprouts and more) and the Zeppelin (whitefish, tuna, wasabi mayo, salmon, avocado and cucumber). Or let chef Noma-San craft your meal with the five-course omakase tasting, with fish flown in from Japan's Tsukiji Fish Market, per Ginko's website

2. Parallax Restaurant and Lounge

Next up is Tremont's Parallax Restaurant and Lounge, situated at 2179 W. 11th St. With four stars out of 190 reviews on Yelp, the sushi bar and Asian fusion spot has proven to be a local favorite for those looking to indulge.

The sleek Parallax is the flagship restaurant of local chef and restaurateur Zack Bruell, who operates five other establishments in the city. Featuring an outdoor patio and half-priced sushi on Mondays, it has become a destination for sushi lovers.

On the menu, offerings include sashimi, nigiri and maki platters as well as specialty rolls like the spicy white tuna with bell pepper, shiso and spicy mayo and the surf and turf with lobster and steak. Japanese-inspired entrees are also available, like the tempura lobster tail with ponzu sauce and the miso-glazed Alaskan black cod with bamboo risotto.

3. Marble Room Steaks and Raw Bar

Head downtown to Marble Room Steaks and Raw Bar, located at 623 Euclid Ave., to see why Yelpers give the fancy sushi bar and steakhouse four stars out of 110 reviews. Located in the historic bank lobby of the Garfield Building, the opulent restaurant features antique fixtures, gilded tiles, an all-glass wine cellar above the bar and a sushi and raw bar.

On the menu, standout selections include the hamachi jalapeño crudo, yellowfin tuna taco trio on wonton chips, shrimp roll in coconut-curry sauce and the daily chef's choice of sashimi. For red meat eaters, several steak options are also available.

Yelp reviewer Molly F. has high praise for the Marble Room: "The service was fantastic, the food was amazing and the building itself and the decor are stunning."
