A dispute between two women in the Tenderloin yesterday afternoon ended in an arrest and a hospitalization after one party assaulted the other with a machete.

The incident occurred on the 400 block of Turk Street around 4:25 p.m. when a 56-year-old female suspect approached the victim, 55, and an argument ensued.

After the disagreement escalated, the suspect allegedly pulled out a machete and cut the victim before fleeing eastbound on Turk Street, where she was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon by officers from Tenderloin Station.

The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening wounds.

Anyone who has information about this incident is encouraged to contact SFPD via the department's anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444, or text TIP411 with "SFPD" at the start of the message.
