Maroon Poetry Festival in Liberty City

All are invited to a full-day festival honoring the roots of the Black Arts Movement in Liberty City.
Attendees will enjoy a yoga and meditation session and performances by local poets, DJs and musicians before special guests the Last Poets, Sonia Sanchez and Ntozake Shange take the stage. There will also be a discussion with Emory Douglas, minister of culture for the Black Panther Party, on the role of art and culture in the community's movements for change and freedom.
