Looking to chow down on soul food with a modern twist? A new spot has you covered. Located at 1542 Washington Ave. in Miami Beach, the new arrival is called Pink Teacup Villa and has a sister restaurant, Pink Teacup Brooklyn, in New York.

Owned by chef Lawrence Page, star of the television program "Hustle & Soul" on WE TV, the restaurant serves upscale takes on traditional soul food dishes, like chicken and waffles, fried catfish, candied yams and fried chicken. You can also expect to find dishes like Kobe beef burgers and seafood paella.

Pink Teacup Villa has gotten good reviews thus far, with a four-star rating out of seven reviews on Yelp.

Danielle V., who was among the first to review it on June 5, wrote, "I had the pork chops and mac and cheese; definitely try the mac and cheese, it was amazing. My boyfriend had the burger and bourbon wings that was great as well. It's a nice place, a little pricey, but I expected that due to the location. I'd definitely come back with family."

Yelper Samina M. added, "Everyone we encountered had great attitudes and were more than happy to take care of us! Our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and even made some recommendations for us. Our food came hot, fresh and need I say really good!"

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Pink Teacup Villa is open from 4–10 p.m. on Tuesday-Thursday, 1 p.m.–midnight on Friday, noon–midnight on Saturday, and noon–10 p.m. on Sunday. (It's closed on Monday.)
