Downtown Miami YMCA opens with fitness classes, a steam room and morePhoto: Martin O./Yelp

A new YMCA branch has opened its doors in downtown Miami. Formerly the David Barton Gym, the space has been renovated into a family-friendly spot at 200 S. Biscayne Blvd., Suite 15A, in the Southeast Financial Center.

This particular location is a comprehensive fitness center, complete with an indoor basketball court, steam room, track circuit, cardio theater and yoga and pilates studio.

Take advantage of the spot's personal training opportunities or check out the group exercise classes, including cycling, dance and high-intensity workouts.

Stop by to take a tour or sign up here for a three-day guest pass.

It's still early days for the new YMCA — it's got just one review on Yelp thus far.

Martin O., who reviewed the new gym on July 18, wrote, "The court is much shorter than regulation. The floor is newly refinished. If you work in the building, it's a great location. For those that want to drop in, there's a monthly fee and a family plan."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. The YMCA is open from 5:30 a.m.–9:30 p.m. from Monday-Thursday, 5:30 a.m.–8 p.m. on Friday, and 8 a.m.–2 p.m. on weekends.
