A new fast-casual eatery featuring healthful fare has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Located at 1823 E. Commercial Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale, the fresh arrival is called Bowlicious.

The restaurant emphasizes its hormone- and antibiotic-free meats, and the low levels of sodium and sugar in such dishes as The Matador, which consists of quinoa, Spanish cilantro basmati rice, cinnamon-roasted sweet potatoes, glazed mushrooms, Peruvian chicken, barbecue pork, Parmesan cheese, beet salad and spicy three pepper sauce. Choose from other pre-designed bowls or create your own.

The whole menu is gluten free, including the two desserts: chocolate chunk cookie and carrot cake. Organic cold-pressed juices and kombucha are also on offer.

The fresh addition has already attracted fans thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of 16 reviews on Yelp.

Marqus R., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 18, wrote, "What totally sets Bowlicious apart from any other fresh ingredient healthy food restaurant was the awesome burst of unique inspiring flavors I found in every bite I tried."

Yelper Ashley L. added, “I am pleasantly surprised how much I loved this place. If we're being honest, I don't typically consider how healthy my food choices are, and I didn't feel like I was sacrificing flavor at Bowlicious. ”

Head on over to check it out: Bowlicious is open from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on Monday-Saturday and noon–8 p.m. on Sunday.
