With summer in full swing, the city is throwing plenty of music, film and art events at you this weekend.

Beach volleyball fans are in luck with the start of the AVP San Francisco Open, which runs through the weekend. Tonight, monthly neighborhood art walks return for the Castro and the Lower Polk/Tenderloin

On Friday, don your favorite animal costume for a themed bike ride through the city, support an art benefit for pediatric cancer in the Castro, pair local comedians with your favorite beers in Bayview, or take in a futuristic play about robot domination in Union Square.

Spend Saturday morning watching swimmers race around Alcatraz, join a community trash party at Ocean Beach, or practice your sport fishing without a license. There's also a free summer circus exhibition at Ft. Mason, a short film festival in the Castro and the SF Symphony will perform the score from The Little Mermaid at Davies Symphony Hall.

Let the good times continue rolling on Sunday with another short film festival in the Mission, the monthly community flea market in the Inner Sunset, a free pirate-themed play in Noe Valley, or get served a drink by a SF Giants player at a charity function at 21st Amendment.

Take a look at the list below to find additional things to do in the days ahead.

Thursday, July 5

Friday, July 6

Saturday, July 7
