A seafood-focused eatery serving regional American cuisine has debuted in the neighborhood. Called Dyllan's Raw Bar and Grill, the newcomer is located in Georgetown's Canal Square building at 1054 31st St. NW, the former home of Sea Catch Restaurant.

The extensive raw bar includes fresh oysters from both coasts, Atlantic quahaug, maki rolls, tinned fish including cockles and sardines, along with king salmon ceviche and ahi tuna tartare. Other fish and seafood options include cioppino (red wine fish stew) and sautéed red snapper with kimchi.

In addition to surf, there's turf: dry-aged ribeye, marinated hangar steak with chimichurri sauce and a buttermilk-brined roasted chicken. Vegetarians can look for a seasonal vegetable pot pie or load up on sides like roasted garlic broccoli, miso crème mashed potatoes and roasted mushroom salad.

With a five-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp so far, the newcomer has been warmly received by patrons.

Ricardo S., who reviewed the new spot on Aug. 23, wrote, "Hidden gem in Georgetown. Super-fresh seafood and great cocktails. We'll be back soon."

Yelper Jim H. added, “Food service is top notch. Some small issues but, for a newer restaurant, I would say exceptional. I recommend you check this place out if you can get a reservation.”

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Dyllan's Raw Bar and Grill is open from 5–11 p.m. on Tuesday-Thursday and 5 p.m.–midnight on Friday and Saturday. (It's closed on Monday and Sunday.)
