We took a data-driven look at the question, using Yelp to deduce which restaurants have been getting a noteworthy increase in attention this month.
To find out who made the list, we looked at Miami businesses on Yelp by category and counted how many reviews each received. Rather than compare them based on number of reviews alone, we calculated a percentage increase in reviews over the past month.
Read on to see which spots have the momentum heading into back-to-school season.
Le Chick

This cocktail bar, music venue and New American spot — which debuted this March — is trending compared to other businesses categorized as "American (New)" on Yelp.
Citywide, New American spots saw review counts increase by a median of 3.1 percent over the past month, but Le Chick saw a 60.7 percent increase, maintaining a sound 4.5-star rating throughout.
It's not the only trending outlier in the New American category: St. Roch Market has seen a 16.3 percent increase in reviews, and Amara at Paraiso has seen a 14.2 percent bump.
Located at 310 N.W. 24th St., Le Chick offers appetizers like Brussels sprouts, smoked broccoli and deviled eggs, lunch and light-night fare such as burgers, fried chicken, lobster rolls, rotisserie chicken and barbecue pork ribs, as well as signature cocktails.
Crazy Poke

Whether or not you've been hearing buzz about Crazy Poke, the Hawaiian spot is a hot topic according to Yelp review data.
While businesses categorized as "Seafood" on Yelp increased their review counts by a median of 2 percent over the past month, Crazy Poke bagged an 18 percent increase in reviews within that timeframe. And it managed to maintain its 4.5-star rating.
Open at 312 N.W. 24th St., Wynwood since November 2017, Crazy Poke offers customizable poke bowls and sushi burritos while offering pre-made options for the indecisive.
There's more that's trending on Miami's seafood scene: Café Roval has seen a 6.1 percent increase in reviews.
Crudos Fusion Art

Crudos Fusion Art is also making waves. Open since December 2017 at 250 N.W. 24th St., the cocktail bar with Asian fusion and Latin American fare has seen a 32.7 percent bump in reviews over the last month, compared to a median review increase of 3.1 percent for all businesses tagged "Cocktail Bars" on Yelp.
Crudos Fusion Art offers unique creations like tuna tartare burgers with ramen noodles as buns, pork belly and more. This spot also serves up a variety of libations, including a number of signature cocktails. Over the past month, it's seen its Yelp rating tick up from four stars to 4.5 stars.
It's not the only hotspot trending in Miami's cocktail bar category: Ghee Indian Kitchen has seen a 16.3 percent increase in reviews.
