Hatsuyuki Handroll Bar
907 Foch St., West Seventh Street District

Hatsuyuki Handroll Bar is a sushi bar, which offers hand rolls with salmon, bay scallop, crab, tuna, lobster, eel, toro, yellowtail and more. You can order a set of rolls for a combo discount, from three rolls to six. It also offers salmon and tuna sashimi, edamame and miso soup.
The new sushi bar has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of 20 reviews on Yelp.
Todd S., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 21, wrote, "Service was excellent and the staff was very informative, but most importantly the food was delicious. We split their six hand roll set menu so we could try a little bit of everything. The fish was fresh and flavorful."
Yelper Kristen H. noted, "Crispy seaweed, warm rice, cool fish. Flavors and textures so good I didn't even need the soy sauce. Made as you eat them, super fresh and unadulterated."

Hashi Japanese Kitchen
6370 Camp Bowie Blvd., Ridglea Hills

Hashi Japanese Kitchen, which has another location off Denton Highway in Watauga, serves up Japanese dishes like chicken teriyaki, hibachi steak, spicy edamame, shrimp tempura, gyoza and more.
It also has a sushi bar, with specialty rolls that include the Hashi roll (salmon, crab, shrimp, cream cheese, spicy mayo and eel sauce) and the Cowboy roll (spicy tuna and avocado topped with crab and spicy mayo). (See the full menu here.)
With a four-star rating out of 12 reviews on Yelp, Hashi Japanese Kitchen has been getting positive attention.
Catie G., who reviewed it on July 14, said, "This is a nice addition to the neighborhood! We got the eel roll, Hashi roll and the steak hibachi to go. The sushi was fresh and tasty. ... The vegetables were phenomenal and the steak was juicy and cooked perfectly."
Sally D. added, "I enjoyed the steak and shrimp teriyaki! So good! The staff was very friendly and helpful; very clean restaurant and restrooms!"
Hashi Japanese Kitchen is open from 11 a.m.–9:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and 11 a.m.–10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Zenna
3001 Bledsoe St., Cultural District

Zenna is a sushi bar and Thai eatery that has other locations throughout the Metroplex, including in Dallas, Mesquite and Plano.
If you're there for Japanese fare, look to the sushi, which includes rolls like the Futomaki (asparagus, tamago, yamagobo, cucumber, avocado and radish sprouts), the Louisiana (crawfish, cucumber and avocado) or the Typhoon (tempura shrimp, crawfish, asparagus, cucumber, avocado, masago and eel sauce). With a 3.5-star Yelp rating out of 39 reviews on Yelp, Zenna is still finding its way, but it's early days.
James D., who reviewed it on June 25, wrote, "The food is very reasonably priced and there is a wide variety to choose from. The spring rolls and dumplings were awesome as appetizers. For the main courses I ordered the pad see eww and my wife ordered sushi, both were amazing."
Kayla R. noted, "Decent hot food, but the sushi tastes like nothing. I've been during happy hour several times and the service is pretty slow."
