In search of a new favorite Italian eatery?

Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top Italian spots around Deerfield Beach, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of the best places to satisfy your cravings.

1. Luigi Di Roma

Topping the list is Luigi Di Roma, situated at 718 S. Federal Highway. The mostly brick interior and white tablecloths create a classic Italian dining atmosphere.

The menu features traditional pasta dishes like fettuccini Alfredo, eggplant parmigiana and spaghetti with tomato and basil sauce, plus entrees like fresh fish and a variety of veal dishes. A square bar area holds a large selection of wines, plus beer and liquor. With 4.5 stars out of 125 reviews on Yelp, it is the highest-rated Italian restaurant in Deerfield Beach. 

2. Joseph's Italian Pastry Shop

Next, Joseph's Italian Pastry Shop, located at 788 S. Federal Highway, is another top choice, with Yelpers giving it 4.5 stars out of 50 reviews. Sweet specialties include pastries like cannoli, cream puffs, tiramisu and sfogliatelle, and cakes such as Italian rum and Napoleon.

An array of cookies are also on offer, including biscotti and amaretti (almond flavor). However, don't overlook the short sandwich menu, which offers a choice of meat (turkey, ham or salami) with provolone.

3. Fratelli's Pizza Pasta & Vino

Fratelli's Pizza Pasta & Vino is another much-loved go-to, with 4.5 stars out of 40 Yelp reviews. With a selection of booths, tables and bar seating, patrons come to this family-run institution for traditional Italian classics, hand-tossed pizza, house-made garlic rolls, plus salads and subs.

4. Amante's Italian Cuisine

Next, check out Amante's Italian Cuisine, which has earned four stars out of 88 reviews on Yelp. Sibling to neighboring Bob's Pizza, Amante's also runs the traditional Italian gamut, from bruschetta and ravioli to veal and chicken dishes.

There's also an extensive selection of seafood options, including mahi-mahi simmered with chopped tomatoes, fresh basil, olives, onions, capers and garlic. Wine and cocktails like the signature martinis contribute to the lively atmosphere, as does the regular live entertainment. You can find it at 2068 N.E. Second St.

5. Nick's Pizza

Last but not least, there's Nick's Pizza, a local favorite with four stars out of 74 reviews. Family owned and operated, Nick's offers not just pizza (including Hawaiian, Greek and no-cheese focaccia versions), but also subs, calzones, pastas and entrees like veal parmigiana. Stop by 137 N.E.
