A new bar and restaurant has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Called Silverlake Bistro, the fresh addition is located at 1211 71st St. on Normandy Isle.
Helmed by the owners of La Fresa Francesa, this new spot is a California-inspired bistro with bites, wine and craft beers. Main dishes include scallops, steak and the Silverlake burger with two patties, cheddar, bacon, porcini mayo and steak sauce.
For those looking to share, small plate options include ricotta honey citrus salad, tartare, gnocchi mac and cheese and veal meatballs. Or, try the pan-fried okra, baby carrots and skinny fries.
With a five-star rating out of seven reviews on Yelp so far, Silverlake Bistro has already made a good impression.
Bob E., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Sept. 15, wrote, "Super cool vibe. Personable service, suave laid-back room, groovy tunes, fab vittles. Oh, and genius little wine list. Love the owners."
Yelper Angela M. added, “Great service, amazing food, Sandy is the hostess with the mostest, chef Jeremy is a genius. Do yourself a favor and try the gnocchi mac and cheese. The burger is great, so is the chicken. Enjoy!”
