A new gastropub has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Located downtown at 1823 L St. NW, the newcomer is called Pisco y Nazca Ceviche Gastrobar. This is the Miami-based eatery's third location.

If the "Pisco" in the name doesn't give it away, you're getting Peruvian cuisine and drinks at this new spot near Farragut Square. (Pisco is both a well-known grape brandy and a town on Peru's southern coast.) The dinner menu has both small sharing plates and full-sized dishes. Expect ceviche, grilled meats and seafood, and empanadas.

The drinks side of the menu ranges from beer and cocktails to sparkling and red wines, including many South American options.

With a 4.5-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp so far, the new addition has already made a good impression.

Katherine G., who reviewed the new spot on Aug. 29, wrote, "Everything was simply amazing! From the greeters, to the servers, bartenders and first and foremost, the food. The tuna ceviche was very fresh and had a lot of flavor."

Yelper Jennifer B. added, “The ceviches were out of this world. The Nikkei was an ahi tuna ceviche that was the highlight of the day. All the people getting poke on this block should skip those places and just get this ceviche dish instead.”

Interested? Stop by to welcome the new business to the neighborhood. Pisco y Nazca Ceviche Gastrobar is open from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Monday-Thursday and Sunday, 11:30 a.m.–11:30 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m.–11:30 p.m. on Saturday.
