Gorilla Taco is a pop-up taco spot that recently opened at 1201 S. Joyce St. in Pentagon Row.

Choose from a selection of meat fillings (grilled steak, shrimp, ground bison and more) or mushrooms. Each taco is topped with cilantro, diced white onion, and both tomatillo and chile de arbol salsas. Eat with a side of chips and salsas.

A full bar serves tequila, margaritas and Mexican beers.

Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ

New to 1119 N. Hudson St. in Clarendon is Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ. The specialty at this nationwide chain is a set meal of starters, plus high-quality meats and veggies to be grilled at your table, and a dessert.

For example, the Gyu-Kaku combo (recommended for two people) comes with four starters (miso soup, a salad, sushi roll and beef bibimbap), meats that include salt and pepper filet mignon, chicken basil and shrimp plus a mushroom medley. S'mores are the typical dessert.

Or you can order from the a la carte menu, which includes rice and noodle dishes, soups and salads, or individual ready-to-grill meats and veggies.

Cocktails, sake, beer and wine are all available.

Next, head up to the terrace level of Le Méridien hotel in North Rosslyn (1121 19th St. North) and you'll find The Yard.

This outdoor restaurant with views of the surrounding Arlington office buildings serves tacos (beef, pork, chicken and cauliflower), sliders, guacamole and quesadillas. Local brews are on tap or you can order the frosé, a frozen rosé drink.

There are games like cornhole available for your entertainment, and it's open to the public, not just hotel guests.

District Dumplings

Finally, District Dumplings is a dim sum spot that's located at 2923 S. Glebe Road.

There's not much beyond dumplings, but those options include inventive potsticker combos like squash and cheese, beef and curry, and the "Buddha's choice," with glass noodles, mushrooms and carrots. In addition to potstickers, there are a handful of open-faced shumai dumplings, as well as xiao long bao (soup dumplings) filled with chicken broth.

A selection of teas and juices, plus beer and wine, round out the menu.
