A Taiwanese tea shop and cafe has debuted in the neighborhood. Located at 4828 MacArthur Blvd. NW in the Palisades, the fresh addition is called Momo's Cafe.
Beverages include fruit tea, tiramisu tea with milk foam and milk tea like Assam and Hokkaido. There's also an eclectic food menu of Taiwanese and Japanese fare that includes appetizers such as popcorn chicken, basil french fries and fried dumplings, and entrees like braised minced pork on rice, chicken katsu sandwiches and a fried New York steak with black pepper gravy.
For dessert, look for honey toast, which is suitable for sharing, and fried ice cream.
Momo's Cafe has gotten an enthusiastic response thus far, with a five-star rating out of 10 reviews on Yelp.
