Philz Coffee has opened its third shop in the district. The new arrival to Dupont Circle is located at 1350 Connecticut Ave. NW and features an area for mobile pickup orders and indoor and outdoor seating.
Philz is a Bay Area favorite that makes single cups of pour-over coffee as they're ordered. The company roasts and mixes some 20 coffee blends (plus some single-origin coffees) at its plant in Oakland, and ships them to stores in just a handful of cities. The results are organized for customers by lighter, medium and darker blends, and you'll note that some come with either mint leaf or cardamom added.
Philz also offers a handful of pastries to accompany your beverage.
The new arrival has gotten good reviews thus far, with a four-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp.
Via V., who reviewed the new spot on Aug. 29, wrote, "If you're into mint, try the Iced Mint Mojito (no, it doesn't contain alcohol), otherwise the Tesora or the Philharmonic for medium roast and Dancing Water for a lighter roast option. Service was great — the staff are all upbeat and friendly."
Yelper Kris S. added, “This new location offers nice and comfortable seating with great views of the baristas at work or busy street views by the window seating. All in all a great experience.”
