Looking to satisfy your appetite for Japanese fare?
Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the best high-end Japanese restaurants around Miami, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of the best spots to fill the bill.
1. Zuma

Topping the list is downtown's Zuma, situated at 270 Biscayne Boulevard Way. With four stars out of 1,104 reviews on Yelp, it is the highest-rated Japanese restaurant in Miami for those looking to indulge.
The local outpost of the international Japanese chain features tempura options like rock shrimp with lime and chili mayonnaise; tiger prawns; and grouper with fresh chili dashi and onions.
Craving sushi? Look for the California maki, a California roll with Alaskan king crab, avocado and tobiko; pirikara hamachi maki with spicy yellowtail, serrano pepper and wasabi mayo; and watari gani maki with soft-shell crab, chili, wasabi and tobiko sauce.
2. NAOE

Brickell's NAOE, located at 661 Brickell Key Drive, is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the fancy sushi bar and Japanese eatery 4.5 stars out of 294 reviews. At this spot, the chef prepares a specialized meal for diners that changes each day. Each experience begins with a bento box, moves into nigiri-sushi and ends with desserts.
3. MYUMI

MYUMI, an omakase sushi bar on wheels, is another much-loved, pricey go-to, with 4.5 stars out of 77 Yelp reviews. Head over to 56 N.W. 29th St. at the Wynwood Yard to try it for yourself. The menu includes rock fish, big-eyed tuna, ocean trout, scallops, firefly squid, Japanese barracuda, golden eye snapper, sea urchins, gnome fish and more.
Yelper Jason D. wrote, "I will put this up against any sushi bar in town. Quality of ingredients, preparation and technique like this is rare. Eat here if you love sushi and you will be hooked on this place as am I."
4. Novikov Miami

Then there's Novikov Miami, which has earned 4.5 stars out of 56 reviews on Yelp. Treat yourself at the Chinese and Japanese restaurant by heading downtown to 300 S. Biscayne Blvd. The high-end chain offers wok dishes, dim sum and sushi. There's also a market display in the restaurant where diners can select from the daily seafood catch and decide how they'd like it prepared.
