A new Italian spot, offering pizza and more, has opened for business in the neighborhood. The new addition to Fort Lauderdale, called Pompei79, is located at 2374 N. Federal Highway.
At this new restaurant you'll find a robust selection of Italian pasta dishes and red and white pizzas. Most pizzas come topped with meat (chicken, prosciutto and spicy salami) plus cheese, tomatoes and other ingredients. But veggie lovers can rejoice: there are also pizzas topped with seasonal vegetables and eggplant, Parmesan and mozzarella.
So far, Yelpers' favorite menu items include the Tartufata pizza with mushrooms and truffle oil, Caesar salad, chicken Milanese and linguini with clams.
With a four-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp so far, Pompei79 has gotten a good response.
Cynthia G., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Nov. 9, wrote, "We went to Pompei 79 to have a glass of wine and ended up eating an entire meal! The food was fantastic. The Tartufata pizza with truffle oil, mushrooms and ricotta has the most delicious crust I have ever eaten in America!"
Yelper Michelle L. added, “I'm a chef and found the service to be excellent here. I had pizza, salad and wine. The pizza crust was flavorful, crisp yet chewy and the sauce was delicious!”
