On Wednesday, a 27-year-old man suffered life threatening injuries after a hit-and-run collision in SoMa, at 7th and Natoma streets.

The man was struck by an unknown vehicle at 3:16 p.m. and transported to a hospital, police said. The driver, a man between 25 and 30 years, fled the scene on foot. No arrest has been made.

The intersection of 7th and Natoma streets has been identified as a high-injury corridor under the city's Vision Zero plan, which aims to eliminate traffic fatalities by 2024.

Back in September, Modesto Figuerido, 61, was killed by a drunk driver while walking near the intersection of 9th and Howard streets, just a few blocks away from yesterday's hit-and-run.

And in March, two people suffered life-threatening injuries in separate hit-and-run collisions in SoMa.

Anyone who has information about either of these incidents is encouraged to contact SFPD via the department's anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444, or text TIP411 with "SFPD" at the start of the message.
