Volunteers Needed to Place Remembrance Wreaths at Arlington National Cemetery

Arlington National Cemetery is looking for volunteers to place remembrance wreaths on the cemetery grounds on Saturday. Thousands of volunteers are needed, and both children and community organizations are welcomed. The all-morning event will conclude with a ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns.

D.C. Small Business Hackathon

Developers and designers are invited to participate in a small business "hackathon." The goal is to produce platforms and tools that communities can use for the benefit of small businesses. Prizes will be awarded to the best products using natural language processing, speech recognition, text-to-speech and machine translation to help in two contexts: small business engagement in accessing federal research and development funding, and to allow for better customer service in the case of natural disasters.

The First Noel Handbell Concert

Finally, the Virginia Bronze Handbell Ensemble performs in concert on Saturday at the Clarendon United Methodist Church. New director Brian Seeman will lead the group in a collection of carols from around the world.
