The San Francisco Police Department has released surveillance footage showing the driver suspected of hitting and killing a San Francisco resident in Lower Nob Hill this morning.

The hit-and-run occurred just before 3:30 a.m. today near the intersection of Bush and Leavenworth streets. The victim, a 58-year-old woman who was crossing the street, died earlier this morning of her injuries.

The surveillance video appears to show the suspected driver — who is thought to be a woman — stop her small, dark-colored vehicle next to an SUV, walk to the back of her vehicle and look down the street, then return to her vehicle and drive away.

The SFPD is asking the driver involved in this collision to contact the SFPD's 24-hour tip line at 415-575-4444 "as soon as possible to arrange an interview regarding the incident."

The department is also asking anyone who recognizes the suspected driver or the suspect vehicle, or has any information on this case, to call the anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 with "SFPD" at the beginning of the message.
