2018 WALA Holiday Party @ Ben's Next Door

Washington Area Lawyers for the Arts provides access to education, advocacy and legal services to support artistic expression and creative innovation in the DMV.

On Thursday, WALA invites all like-minded folks to join its board, staff and volunteers at its free holiday party at Ben's Next Door. There'll be music, drinks, a short program and a raffle drawing.

Southern Diplomats Presents: Ugly Sweater Party Vol. 3

Also free is this Christmas party at Ivy City's The Hecht Warehouse, presented by Southern Diplomats. This group of young professional black men with a penchant for Southern culture asks partiers to don an ugly sweater, bring a favorite bottle of hooch, and get ready to dance, mingle and celebrate the season.

Holiday Celebration at the Embassy of Argentina

A somewhat more official group of diplomats, from the Embassy of Argentina, is also hosting a holiday party this week. This celebration at the Embassy will feature the food, music, dancing (tango!) and hospitality of that South American nation. The dress code is semi-formal.

Embassy Row Chocolate Tour: Special Holiday Guided Tour

Finally, and in the same neighborhood, is this chocolate-themed tour of Embassy Row. 

Attendees will see some of D.C.'s grandest homes, hear the stories behind them, and learn about the foreign governments that now occupy them. Along the way, they'll sample holiday chocolate from several different international traditions.
