A new French restaurant and wine bar has opened up shop in the neighborhood. The new arrival to downtown, called Mirabelle, is located at 114 S.E. First St.
Mirabelle is the latest offering by French chef Georges Berger, formerly the owner of Chocolate Fashion in Coral Gables. In addition to wine and chocolate pairings, the menu offers a robust selection of sandwiches and salads, breakfast dishes, dinners plates and desserts.
Highlights include the pancakes, made with your choice of blueberries, Nutella or chocolate banana; pastry puffs filled with escargot (sautéed snails); and a sandwich filled with sautéed duck breast, apple and caramelized onion.
As for dessert, look for the chocolate mousse with bourbon vanilla sauce.
With a five-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp so far, Mirabelle has been warmly received by patrons.
K.M., who reviewed the spot on Jan. 27, wrote, "Our entrees of trout Nantua (sautéed trout in Nantua sauce with delicate crayfish tails and salmon —a rare find in Miami) and magret of duck (perfectly cooked topped with a cassis sauce and served with sautéed apple slices and caramelized onions) could not have been more delicious, were artfully presented and were more than even we could eat. "
Yelper Luis G. added, "Mirabelle has a great vibe, and the food is wonderful ... . It's a must is you like high-quality French food."
Head on over to check it out: Mirabelle is open from 7:30 a.m.–7 p.m. on Monday-Wednesday and 7:30 a.m.–11 p.m. on Thursday-Saturday. (It's closed on Sunday.)
