A new Cuban eatery, offering breakfast, sandwiches, bowls and more, has opened up shop in the neighborhood. Located at 40 S.W. 12th St. in Brickell, the fresh addition is called Sergio’s Cuban. The business has other locations around South Florida, with even more coming soon.
Create your own bowl by picking a base like brown rice or cauliflower rice, then a protein such as pork, chicken or ground turkey, followed by two sides and a sauce. Or try a Frita Burger, featuring beef and chorizo, American cheese, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato and string potatoes, topped with Sergio's sauce on a potato bun.
With a four-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp so far, Sergio’s Cuban has been warmly received by patrons.
Miriam M., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Jan. 7, wrote, "The bowls are delicious and not a bad price. I ordered the Ropa Vieja bowl and it was delicious, filled with explosive flavor."
And Rachel S. wrote, "I might be their biggest fan! I feel there has been a lack of affordable fast casual in Brickell, especially one with a healthy edge that isn't simply a 'salad' place. I enjoy the customizable feel of their bowls and look forward to finding my perfect combo."
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Sergio’s Cuban is open from 7 a.m.–midnight on Monday-Thursday, 7 a.m.–3 a.m. on Friday, 9 a.m.–3 a.m. on Saturday, and 9 a.m.–10 p.m. on Sunday.
