Want the scoop on Miami's most talked-about local spots?

We took a data-driven look at the question, using Yelp to analyze which eateries have been getting a notable increase in attention this month.

To find out who made the list, we looked at Miami businesses on Yelp by category and counted how many reviews each received. Rather than compare them based on number of reviews alone, we calculated a percentage increase in reviews over the past month, and tracked businesses that consistently increase their volume of reviews to identify statistically significant outliers compared to past performance.

Read on to see which spots have the momentum heading into springtime.

This New Mexican spot is trending compared to other businesses categorized as "Seafood" on Yelp.

Citywide, seafood spots saw new reviews increase by a median of 2.8 percent over the past month, but PEZ saw a 50 percent increase, with a slight downward trend from a five-star rating a month ago to 4.5 stars today.

Located at 20 W. Flagler St. in Downtown Miami since last December, PEZ specializes in Mexican seafood. The menu offers everything from tostados topped with shrimp, yellowfin tuna and lentil ceviche, to a selection of tacos, and plates like pork and octopus carnitas and grilled huachinango fish in adobo sauce.

No. 3 Social

Whether or not you've been hearing buzz about No. 3 Social, the lounge and cocktail bar is a hot topic according to Yelp review data.

While businesses categorized as "Cocktail Bars" on Yelp increased their review count by a median of 3.5 percent over the past month, No. 3 Social bagged a 14.7 percent increase in new reviews within that timeframe, maintaining a convincing four-star rating. It significantly outperformed the previous month by gaining 3.5 times more reviews than expected based on its past performance.

Open at 50 N.W. 24th St. since 2017, No. 3 Social is a local go-to for boozy rooftop brunches. Come here for creative cocktails — like the Cactus Flower, combining mezcal, prosecco, aloe liquor and aloe juice, lemon and agave — all served by the glass or pitcher, and small bites like pulled pork sliders, coconut-citrus ceviche and braised chicken nachos. Three is also making waves.

Open since 2017 at the Wynwood Arcade, 50 N.W. 24th St., the New American restaurant and wine bar has seen a 14.8 percent bump in new reviews over the last month, compared to a median review increase of 2.2 percent for all businesses tagged "American (New)" on Yelp.

Three is the latest endeavor by James Beard award-winning chef Norman Van Aken, where he offers Florida favorites infused with worldly flavors.

At dinner, expect a diverse selection of dishes like slow-roasted venison with cauliflower and coconut creamed kale and tilefish with saffron and red pepper-glazed heirloom beans, or reserve seats at the Chef's Counter to experience the tasting menu.

Over the past month, Three has maintained a strong four-star rating among Yelpers.
