If you've got Italian on the mind, a recent opening is need-to-know. Located at 900 S. Miami Ave., Suite 111 in Brickell, the fresh arrival is called North Italia.
Created in 2002 by James Beard Award semifinalist Sam Fox, the Italian chain's first Florida restaurant is the new Brickell spot, reports MiamiNewTimes.com.
You'll find brick-oven pizza, pastas and local beers as well as weekend brunch and desserts ranging from local gelato to the hazelnut torta. Several menu items give a nod to Miami's culture, including the "One More Mambo" cocktail (made with spiced rum, pineapple and lime) and the burrata tortelloni (a robust pasta dish accented with cherry tomatoes, Pecorino Romano cheese and Italian red sauce).
The fresh addition has proven popular thus far, with a five-star rating out of ten reviews on Yelp.
Abegail D., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Jan. 26, wrote, "Everything was delicious. The grilled cauliflower was crunchy and seasoned perfectly and the egg on top made it a masterpiece!"
Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. North Italia is open from 11 a.m.–10:30 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.–11:30 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m.–11:30 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m.–10:30 p.m. on Sunday.
