Pulp + Process and Rebecca Welz: Inner and Outer Spaces Exhibition Opening Reception

First, the Society of Arts + Crafts is opening its newest exhibitions "Pulp + Process" and the Spotlight Gallery "Rebecca Welz: Inner and Outer Spaces on Thursday. According to the promoter of the free event, "Pulp + Process," curated by 2019 Emerging Curator Sam Aldrich, will display a variety of paper-made works ranging from stunning cut paper to charming miniatures. The Spotlight Gallery will feature metal sculpture, collage and more by the New York City-based artist.

Of Ebony Embers: Vignettes of the Harlem Renaissance

Next, take in an evening of chamber music on Friday with the performance, "Of Ebony Embers: Vegnettes of the Harlem Renaissance" at Roxbury Community College. The show examines "the lives of three outstanding but very different African American poets–Langston Hughes, Countee Cullen and Claude McKay–as seen through the eyes of the great painter and muralist Aaron Douglas," according to the promoter.

When Angels Fall

Then, catch the U.S. premiere run of "When Angels Fall" on Thursday at the Emerson Cutler Majestic Theatre. The event organizer describes the show as, "Dance, theater and circus combine to create an entrancing tale of flightless angels surviving in a post-apocalyptic world in acclaimed French choreographer Raphaëlle Boitel's show."

Winterworks

Lastly, 2018-2019 Alumni Choreographic Commission recipients Key Aira Lockett and Maleek Washington are performing on Thursday at the Boston Conservatory Theatre. They will premiere works created for the Conservatory mainstage debut of the freshman dance class. There will also be a performance by the sophomore and junior dance students.
