A new gift shop, offering jewelry, home décor and more, has made its debut in the neighborhood. Called Calypso Collective, the fresh addition is located at 502 University Ave. in Hillcrest.
The shop has been the largest collective of San Diego artists since 2015, according to the San Diego Uptown News, with over 70 featured artists. New owner and glass artist Dawn Wesalo took over the shop, formerly known as Creative Crossroads, in January 2019 from founder and artist Aimee Baca.
With a 4.5-star rating out of 21 reviews on Yelp so far, the fresh arrival has been warmly received by patrons.
