Curious where Miami's insiders are eating and drinking? It's easy to spot lines out the door, but some underlying trends are harder to see.
We took a data-driven look at the question, using Yelp to analyze which restaurants have been on the tips of diners' tongues this month.
To find out who made the list, we looked at Miami businesses on Yelp by category and counted how many reviews each received. Rather than compare them based on number of reviews alone, we calculated a percentage increase in reviews over the past month, and tracked businesses that consistently increased their volume of reviews to identify statistically significant outliers compared to past performance.
Read on to see which spots are worth exploring, right now.
The Egg Spot

Open since April, this breakfast and brunch spot, which offers burgers, coffee and tea and more, is trending compared to other businesses categorized as "Breakfast & Brunch" on Yelp.
Citywide, breakfast and brunch spots saw a median 3.4 percent increase in new reviews over the past month, but The Egg Spot saw a 93.3 percent increase, maintaining a healthy 4.5-star rating throughout.
It's not the only trending outlier in the breakfast and brunch category: Laid Fresh has seen a 61.1 percent increase in reviews.
Located at 228 S.E. First St. in downtown Miami, The Egg Spot offers eggs with chorizo, bacon, ham or smoked brisket; chicken and waffles; lox on a brioche roll; and salads, burgers, brats and chicken.
Los Altos

Whether or not you've been hearing buzz about Little Havana's Los Altos, the cocktail bar and Mexican spot is a hot topic according to Yelp review data.
While businesses categorized as "Cocktail Bars" on Yelp saw a median 3.1 percent increase in new reviews over the past month, Los Altos bagged a 35.7 percent increase in new reviews within that timeframe, maintaining a mixed 3.5-star rating. It significantly outperformed the previous month by gaining two times more reviews than expected based on its past performance.
There's more that's trending on Miami's cocktail bar scene: The Citadel has seen a 23.5 percent increase in reviews.
Open at 521 S.W. 8th St. since November, Los Altos offers tacos, margaritas, tiki-style cocktails and other libations in a speakeasy atmosphere.
B Bistro + Bakery

Brickell's B Bistro + Bakery is also making waves. Open since 2016 at 600 Brickell Ave., Suite 175, the popular bakery and breakfast and brunch and New American spot has seen a 6.1 percent bump in new reviews over the last month, compared to a median review increase of 2 percent for all businesses tagged "American (New)" on Yelp. Moreover, on a month-to-month basis, the eatery's review count increased by more than 220 percent. Over the past month, it's maintained a strong 4.5-star rating among Yelpers.
B Bistro + Bakery offers upscale breakfast and brunch items like a croque madame, a smoked salmon scramble and croissant French toast, not to mention steak and eggs. On the lunch side, the menu offers salads, tartines and sandwiches. The specialty, though, is baked goods of all sorts, including freshly made Danish.
