Looking for a new spot to beat an escape room or two? A new business is here to help. The fresh arrival to East Murphy, called Omescape, is located at 1135 E. Arques Ave.

Omescape offers a variety of challenging puzzle rooms fit for team building, date nights, family get-togethers and hanging out with friends. Escape games include a trek to a cursed temple, a thief hunt through an art gallery and a darkened experience in an apartment building.

Omescape also has locations in New York, San Jose, Richmond and Toronto.

The fresh arrival has proven popular thus far, with a five-star rating out of 12 reviews on Yelp.

Sonty V., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 12, wrote, "My boyfriend and I did The Apartment Next Door, which is, as advertised, in complete darkness. Staff was really friendly, and the concept of a room where you can essentially only use two of your senses is pretty neat. It's definitely worth a try at least once."

And Vickie C. wrote, "We did the Galleria room, which was a full 90 minutes worth of challenging puzzles intertwined in a great storyline. The room was definitely high quality in terms of the technology but also how everything connected with the story."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Omescape is open from noon–10 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, noon–midnight on Friday and 10 a.m.–midnight on weekends. (It's closed on Monday and Tuesday.)
