The San Francisco Board of Supervisors will convene on July 30. We've examined the agenda to create this summary of what's due for discussion and voting.

A key item on the forthcoming agenda is an ordinance that would streamline small business permitting by, among other things, amending the Health Code to align regulation of restaurant enclosures for outdoor food service and restroom requirements with state standards.

According to the agenda, members will also consider making amendments to the Planning Code, including requiring building setbacks for buildings fronting on narrow streets, modifying front yard requirements in residential districts and increasing required rear yards in single-family zoning districts by 5%.

Other agenda items include:

  • An ordinance to create an Office of Racial Equity as a division of the Human Rights Commission Department.
  • An ordinance to organize a special election Nov. 5, 2019 to incur $600 million in bond debt to finance affordable housing improvements.
  • An ordinance that would dedicate Park P2 Parking Lot (a portion of Assessor’s Parcel Block No. 8710, Lot No. 2, adjacent to Channel Street), Park P11-11A (east of Mission Bay Drive and Circle), and Parks P23 and P24 (adjacent to Terry Francois Boulevard between 16th Street and Illinois Street), as open public right-of-way in Mission Bay South.
  • An ordinance to lease city property at 500 Jefferson St. to the South End Rowing Club, a California nonprofit corporation, for an annual rent of 10% of all gross receipts that are not derived from the Alcatraz Invitational and 4% of all gross receipts that are derived from the Alcatraz Invitational, for 25 years with an option to extend 24 years.
