Spend an Hour With the Cats at The Dancing Cat

From the event description:
This is your chance to, quite literally, hang out with the coolest cats in town. San Jose's The Dancing Cat is a creative space for people and sometimes adoptable cats are able to get in on the human interaction. The space provides a living room-like ambiance where anywhere between seven to 11 lucky cats can wander and play in a cage-free environment. Visitors go there to meet friends, read, study or simply lounge with adoptable cats under a ceiling of colorful paper lanterns. Whether you're looking to adopt or just like to soak up the cool cat vibe and maybe scratch behind a few furry ears, this is one hour of your time that won't be wasted.
When: Wednesday, Aug. 7, 1 p.m.
Where: The Dancing Cat, 702 E. Julian St.

'James and the Giant Peach'
From the event description:
Come see this production of Roald Dahl’s fantastical tale of a boy, his insect friends and their amazing journey across the ocean on a huge piece of fruit in "James and the Giant Peach." When James is sent by his cruel and conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that launches a journey of enormous proportions. Suddenly, he finds himself in the center of a gigantic peach — among human-sized insects with equally oversized personalities — but, after the peach falls from the tree and rolls downhill right into the ocean, the group faces hunger, sharks and plenty of disagreements. Thanks to James’ quick wit and creative thinking, they learn to live and work together as a family. This is an adventure musical for the whole family.
When: Thursday, Aug. 8, 7 p.m.
Where: Montgomery Theater, 271 S. Market St.
Price: $10
