For the 2019-2020 school year, the school, located at 160 Quintard St., enrolls 877 students. Castle Park Middle School serves a diverse population: 90% of students identify as Hispanic. Niche graded the school a B- for academics (on an A-D scale).

Eastlake Middle School also saw improvement in its overall rating, from a B+ to an A-. The school is located at 900 Duncan Ranch Road and has 1,625 students currently enrolled, of whom 55% identify as Hispanic, 18% identify as Asian and 14% identify as white.

Niche graded Eastlake Middle School an A- for academics on an A-D scale. Its latest math proficiency was 52%, and reading proficiency was 71%.

While some public middle schools are moving up the ranks, others are consistently top-rated overall, including:

  • Bonita Vista Middle School, with an overall rating of B+.
  • Hilltop Middle School, with a B- rating overall.
  • Chula Vista Middle School, rated B- overall.
