Unsure where Miami's insiders are eating and drinking? It's easy to spot lines out the door, but some underlying trends are harder to see.

We took a data-driven look at the question, using Yelp to discover which local businesses have been getting outsized notice this month.

To find out who made the list, we looked at Miami businesses on Yelp by category and counted how many reviews each received. Rather than compare them based on number of reviews alone, we calculated a percentage increase in reviews over the past month, and tracked businesses that consistently increased their volume of reviews to identify statistically significant outliers compared to past performance.

Read on to see which spots are extra hot this summer.

Blvd Baes

Open since 2018, this New American and breakfast and brunch spot is trending compared to other businesses categorized as "American (New)" on Yelp.

Citywide, New American spots saw a median 2.2 percent increase in new reviews over the past month, but Blvd Baes saw a 15.8 percent increase, maintaining a superior 4.5-star rating throughout.

Located at 7244 Biscayne Blvd., Blvd Baes offers a robust breakfast menu that includes classic American breakfasts — like chicken and waffles, French toast and pancakes — alongside a few international dishes like chilaquiles and spicy dal.

Whether or not you've been hearing buzz about downtown Miami's Jaguar Sun, the cocktail bar and Italian spot is a hot topic according to Yelp review data.

While businesses categorized as "Cocktail Bars" on Yelp saw a median 4.5 percent increase in new reviews over the past month, Jaguar Sun bagged a 16.9 percent increase in new reviews within that timeframe, maintaining a sterling five-star rating.

Open at 230 N.E. Fourth St. since September 2018, Jaguar Sun offers wines, beer and cocktails. Try the Volcano Rabbit with tequila, espresso, Grand Mariner and vanilla or the exotic Sleepwalker with Wild Turkey 101 bourbon, coconut milk, ginger and lime cordial.

Flagami's Aromas Del Peru is also making waves. Open since 2014 at 5757 S.W. Eighth St., the Peruvian spot, which offers seafood and more, has seen an 8.1 percent bump in new reviews over the last month, compared to a median review increase of 2.2 percent for all businesses tagged "Seafood" on Yelp. Moreover, on a month-to-month basis Aromas Del Peru's review count increased by more than 220 percent.

Aromas Del Peru offers a variety of ceviches, a mahi mahi primavera entree, beef dishes like the lomo soltado and maracuya mousse for dessert. Over the past month, it's maintained a solid four-star rating among Yelpers.
