'Anna' Ela FaLa Dance Collective
From the event description:
Join Polaris Dance Theatre in our intimate Black Box Theatre located in NW Portland for “Anna,” an evening length original dance work by ELa FaLa Collective. Choreographed by Artistic Director, Barbara Lima, this work is inspired by her experience of replanting her roots from Brazil to the US -- where language and cultural challenges are inevitable. ELa FaLa emerged as a collaborative portal that uses dance through various artistic mediums to express the feminine experience in the world. It is the mission of the collective to be a conduit for the voice of women and all artists regardless of their gender, age, and ethnicity. In “Anna,” the all female dance company explores movement with the intention that language goes beyond words and can be directly translated through the body.
When: Friday, Nov. 8, 8 p.m.
