A new Indian and Himalayan/Nepalese eatery has made its debut in the neighborhood. Called Rose Indian Cuisine, the fresh arrival is located at 1386 Ninth Ave. (at Judah) in the Inner Sunset.

The space has been home to several Indian and Nepalese eateries over the years, including MooDees and Gorkha Kitchen. In its latest incarnation as Rose, it offers a full menu of traditional curries, biryanis, tandoori dishes and more.

Himalayan specialties include momos (dumplings) or the Himalayan thali  — a combo platter featuring a selection of either meat or vegetarian dishes for two.

Drinks include lassis and chai, and for dessert, there is kulfi (saffron ice cream), gulab jamun (sweet dumplings in syrup) and kheer (rice pudding).

Rose Indian Cuisine has proven popular thus far, with a five-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp.

Shahen S., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Nov. 7, wrote, “One of the best chicken tikka masala dishes I have had in recent memory."

Yelper Hillary S. added, "This is my favorite new spot for Indian and Nepali food. The service is great and so is the food (big fan of the veggie momo)."

Head on over to check it out: Rose Indian Cuisine is open from 10:30 a.m.–10 p.m. daily.
