A new spot to score coffee, tea and ice cream has made its debut in the neighborhood. Called Matcha Cafe Maiko, the fresh arrival is located at 754 Grant Ave. in Chinatown.

On the menu at Matcha Cafe Maiko, look for floats, frappes, lattes, parfaits and soft-serve ice cream in flavors like matcha, vanilla, kokuto (brown sugar) and hojicha (roasted green tea). Or, try the shave ice matcha with matcha syrup, homemade adzuki beans and shhiratama, topped with matcha cream.

With a five-star rating out of 13 reviews on Yelp so far, Matcha Cafe Maiko has already made a good impression.

Matt G., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Dec. 29, wrote, "I had the Matcha Green Cream. I may not be an expert on matcha green tea, but the beverage has an overpowering green tea taste. The workers are trained well and know what they are doing."

Yelper Jennifer N. added, “I really enjoy their Hojicha flavor, which is basically roasted matcha.”

Interested? Stop by to welcome the new business to the neighborhood. Matcha Cafe Maiko is open from 11 a.m.–7 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
