I’m the soft and beautiful Mariposa. I’m currently eating a prescription food for urinary health as I had some crystals in my urine which may have caused some inappropriate urination briefly in my past. I had a hernia fixed some months ago on my tummy but that issue is completely resolved. I’m a love bug. I’m very friendly with people. I’m ok with other cats but don’t really seek out their company. I can be a little shy at first but I’m a cool cat.

Tiffa is a female Egyptian Mau cat currently housed at Northwest Animal Companions.

She's already house-trained. Her vaccinations are already up to date, and she is spayed.

Have you ever been to the pyramids of Giza? If you have, you may have seen my ancestors. Hi, my name is Tiffa, short for Latifa which means delicate. I am certainly the cat’s meow. Why? Well, I love to “talk” like a Siamese cat. You see, my genes are from the original cats of Asia. I am a Mau, an Arabian Mau to be exact. My ancestors were the ones who inspired the great sphinx monuments. I may not have been around during Cleopatra’s times but I can assure you that I would have certainly been chosen as one of her palace felines. For that reason, I have a very queen-like personality. I definitely prefer to be the only feline queen of the house. I love to cuddle on your lap or somewhere just near you.

I came all the way to OHS through the Second Chance Program. My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! It is unknown if I have ever lived with other animals or children. I have been worried during my stay at OHS. It may take me a while to settle in to my new home. I love treats and catnip! I may benefit from having another confident feline friend in the home. Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy! I have lived with other cats in my last home. I enjoy being around people but I also appreciate my alone time where I can do my own thing. I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.
