Here's a roundup of notable crimes reported to the SFPD's Tenderloin Station in the weeks since our last roundup. All details come from official police reports, unless otherwise noted.

Woman injured in carjacking 

Around 4:55 p.m. on March 28, a 37-year-old woman was forced out of her vehicle by an unidentified male near the intersection of Eddy and Leavenworth streets.

The suspect stole the woman’s vehicle and caused scratches to her arms. The suspect was later identified and arrested by officers, but no details on him have been released. 

Robbers use nunchucks, screwdriver in 3-on-1 attack

Three men said to be in their early twenties surrounded a 40-year-old man near the intersection of 7th and Market streets at 4:38 a.m. on March 28. The suspects used a screwdriver and nunchucks to threaten the victim, and stole his money, shoes, and jacket before fleeing on foot. No arrests have been made. 

Man suffers life-threatening stab wounds

A 22-year-old man was left in critical condition after a physical altercation on the corner of Post and Market streets escalated around 3:30 a.m. on March 28.

The suspect, said to b a man around 30 years old, fled the scene after stabbing the victim with a sharp object. The victim was transported to the hospital with two stab wounds, and the suspect remains at large. 

Dog owner assaulted with rock

Around 1:55 p.m. on March 27, a man said to be 50 years old became angry that a 43-year-old woman’s dog was too close to him on the 600 block of Eddy Street (near Larkin). 

The man hit the woman with a rock and cut her head. The victim was taken to the hospital for her non-life-threatening head injury and the suspect has not been identified. 

Man awakened, robbed in Hallidie Plaza 

A man said to be in his twenties woke a 32-year-old man up in Hallidie Plaza around 12:17 p.m. on March 27, and threatened to harm him if he didn’t hand over his property. The victim complied, handing over his cash, and the suspect fled the scene. 

Man cut after verbal altercation

Around 2:15 a.m. on March 27 a man said to be in his early 30s had a verbal altercation with a 41-year-old man near the intersection of Taylor and Ellis streets. The suspect cut the older man under his left ear before fleeing the scene. 

Shoplifter cuts woman with box cutter

A 26-year-old man tried to leave a store on the unit block of 4th Street (near Market) without paying around 4 p.m. on March 22. When the 41-year-old woman tried to stop him from leaving, the suspect swung a box cutter, cutting her and causing non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled on foot but was later arrested. 

Man robbed in midday attack

Around 12:30 p.m. on March 22, a woman said to be in her twenties approached a 66-year-old man near the intersection of 7th and Market streets, pushed him, and stole his phone and money. The woman fled westbound on Market and remains at large.

Woman strangled, robbed in two-on-one assault

Two women, one said to be 30 and another said to be 40, were talking with a 55-year-old woman near the intersection of Ellis and Hyde streets around 7:39 a.m on March 22, just before attacking her.

The younger suspect strangled the victim while the older one grabbed her tent, earrings, and money. Both suspects fled on foot with the victim’s property and have not been located.  

Man shot in leg by unknown suspect

Just after 12:30 a.m. on March 22, a 41-year-old man was shot in the leg by an unknown suspect on the 300 block of Turk Street (near Leavenworth). The suspect fled the scene and the victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. 

Man attacked with wheelchair

A 50-year-old man got into an argument with a man said to be in his twenties around 4:30 p.m. on March 18 on the 200 block of Eddy Street (near Mason). The younger man hit the victim with a wheelchair, causing non-life-threatening injuries, before fleeing on foot.

Victim uninjured after attempted tire wrench attack

Around 4 a.m. on March 14, a man said to be 35 years old threw a tire wrench at a 28-year-old man near the intersection of 8th and Market streets. The victim wasn’t injured and the suspect remains at large. 

Man jumped by unknown suspects 

A 52-year-old man was jumped by unknown suspects near the intersection of Golden Gate Avenue and Leavenworth Street around 10 p.m. on March 13. The victim was pushed to the ground and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. 

Man robbed after being thrown to ground

Around 3:45 p.m. on March 7, a man said to be 35 years old threw a 52-year-old man to the ground on the 1500 block of Market Street (near Van Ness Avenue). The suspect stole the victim’s necklace, keys, and cash, before fleeing on foot.
