Doris, pit bull terrier

Doris is a female pit bull terrier dog being cared for at California Pit Bull Rescue.

Doris wants all your attention: She will need a home free of other dogs, cats and kids. She's already vaccinated and spayed. No need to worry: She's already house-trained.

From Doris' current caretaker:

Doris is weary of strangers. She may bark when guests come over but when they get close to her she runs away. Ideally someone that is interested in adopting her could come visit her several times to slowly get her adjusted to someone new. Other than that, she's a very good dog and behaves with her family. She has never been around kids or other dogs so she will need a home without them.

Daisy, American Staffordshire terrier

Daisy is a lovable female American Staffordshire terrier dog staying at California Pit Bull Rescue.

Daisy needs special time to bond with you: She will need a home free of other dogs and children. She's spayed and vaccinated. Good news: She is already house-trained.

Here's what Daisy's friends at California Pit Bull Rescue think of her:

Daisy enjoys chill time at home and even loves wearing her outfits. She loves to go for walks and knows how to sit stay and lay down. Daisy would do best as an only dog in the home and preferable without young children.

Lucy Loo, pit bull terrier and hound mix

Lucy Loo is a female pit bull terrier and hound mix being cared for at California Pit Bull Rescue.

Lucy Loo is a social butterfly, and she gets along well with cats and dogs. Have no fear: She is already house-trained. She's already vaccinated and spayed.

Here's what Lucy Loo's friends at California Pit Bull Rescue think of her:

Meet the adorable floppy-eared Lucy Loo! She came to us by way of Oakland Animal Services. She is currently in a home with a kitty and learning to behave around him. We think she can live in a home with cats but will need slow intros. She also does well with other dogs and loves to go for long walks. Lucy is a sensitive gal and can be timid in new environments (which is why we think Lucy should not be adopted into a home for first-time dog owners). She will need someone patient and consistent with training, as she's a smart cookie! Lucy is crate trained potty trained and considerate in the home. She's about 55lbs with long legs and a soft coat of fur. Lucy rides well in the car and would probably enjoy outdoor adventures!

Brisket, American Staffordshire terrier mix

Brisket is a lovable male American Staffordshire terrier mix staying at California Pit Bull Rescue.

Brisket gets along well with other dogs. His ideal forever home would be a cat-free environment. He's been vaccinated and neutered. Fear not: He is already house-trained.

Here's what Brisket's friends at California Pit Bull Rescue think of him:

Brisket (formerly Jaxon) arrived to our rescue by way of San Jose Animal Care & Control. He is a stunning, handsome chunky dude. Brisket spent his first few days out of the shelter living with our dog trainer, learning crate training & basic obedience skills. He is now settled into his foster home in SF and doing well with city living! Brisket enjoys a chill home and even sleeping in on those weekends. He loves meeting dogs of all sizes, as well as meeting new people. Brisket loves to please his humans and he's super smart, so he would love his new family to continue to teach him new things. In a structured environment Brisket will thrive (like all of our dogs).

Sapphire, pit bull terrier

Sapphire is a darling female pit bull terrier dog currently residing at Oakland Animal Services.

She has been vaccinated.

Sapphire's current caretakers say:

Sapphire is an engaging and loveable pupper. She is friendly and shows it by wagging her tail. This sweetiepie loves playing with toys and playing tug, too. She knows sit already and is treat motivated. We think she will go far with reward-based training. When meeting other dogs, she is a little forward with her greeting then loosens up and starts to play. She doesn't appreciate dogs who are too pushy, and will do best with other respectful dogs. Sapphire is waiting for her forever home, will it be with you?

Oso, German shepherd

Oso is an adorable male German shepherd dog being cared for at Oakland Animal Services.

Notes from Oso's caretakers:

Hi I'm Oso! I'm currently in foster and having a fantastic time with my foster family and my foster Great Dane brother. Ball is life! Some of my favorite things are playing with a ball, playing with a ball, playing with a ball. Oh yeah, and playing with a ball. I sometimes forget to do other things because I love balls so much so you might need to help me with that.
