Meet your park rangers in this live panel exploring careers in national parks and the Golden Gate National Recreation Area in San Francisco.

Hear about the rangers' journeys to a park career, what it takes to work outdoors amidst parkgoers, wildlife and nature, and what a path to join them might look like.

Humanizing the Future? Featuring Dr. Ruha Benjamin

Then, join the University of San Francisco’s School of Education Center for Humanizing Research for the third in a series of summer conversations.

This time, learn about reimagining the default settings of technology and society in a discussion with Ruha Benjamin, author of the 2019 book "Race After Technology: Abolitionist Tools for the New Jim Code," who will be joined by Shabnam Koirala-Azad, dean for academic affairs at the university.

Authors in Conversation | The Names of All the Flowers by Melissa Valentine in conversation with Sadie Barnette

Participate in a session hosted by the Museum of the African Diaspora with Oakland's award-winning writer Melissa Valentine and artist Sadie Barnette, as they discuss Valentine's new memoir "The Names of All the Flowers," recipient of the Louise Meriwether First Book Prize.

The Names of All the Flowers connects one tragic death to a collective grief for all Black people who die too young. A lyrical recounting of a life lost, Valentine’s debut memoir is an intimate portrait of a family fractured by the school-to-prison pipeline and a love letter to an adored older brother.
