Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and a member of the White House Coronavirus Task Force, has become a household name during the pandemic. Now, he's speaking to San Francisco audiences in a conversation with Gloria Duffy, president and CEO of Commonwealth Club of California. The talk includes an opportunity to ask Fauci questions directly, so get your most pressing queries ready.

How to Present Your Business

Author: Virgie Tovar, The Summer of Self-Love

This month's SF Public Library "On the Same Page" book is "You Have the Right to Remain Fat," written by activist Virgie Tovar. Also the author of "The Self-Love Revolution: Radical Body Positivity for Girls of Color," the San Francisco resident will share some of her insights into weight discrimination, and how fat people can find self-love in a culture that makes them feel less-than.

August Book Club: 'You Should See Me in a Crown'

Divisadero-based gift store Perdita will also host its monthly book club on Tuesday. This month, the featured book will be young adult novel "You Should See Me in a Crown."
Written by Brooklyn-based writer and editor Leah Johnson, the recently released book follows a queer Black teenager who must run for prom queen to get the money she needs for college — and escape her hated hometown, a wealthy, white Midwestern suburb.
