For a lot of people in the Bay Area, this weekend is all about Golden Gate Park's epic Outside Lands music festival, plus its attendant night-time shows around town and other pre-, post-, and during parties. And make no mistake, the Outside Lands universe should provide plenty of entertainment all weekend long. But Hoodline's Bay Area Summertime Happenings has you covered even if music megafests aren't your jam. Read on for happenings around the Bay this Friday through Sunday, including the World Dog Surfing Championships (for real) and the Fremont Festival for the Arts. TGI(A)F!

Outside Lands at Golden Gate Park

Green Day, Post Malone, SZA ... and on and on. The Outside Lands concert is the place to be this weekend for music fans. Single-day tickets for Friday, Saturday or Sunday are $175 plus about $25 in fees, while tickets for the whole three-day shebang are $409 plus about $50 in fees. VIP passes were selling out when we checked, but you may still be able to snag a single-day VIP pass for some days if you're willing to drop around $440 on the experience. Whether or not you go to the main event, you can also get tickets to see various artists in the Outside Lands Night Shows at venues around San Francisco.

Fremont Festival of the Arts

Organizers say the Fremont Festival Of The Arts is the largest free street festival west of the Mississippi and promise some four miles' worth of activities and entertainment for the whole family. In addition to hundreds of art and craft booths and loads of food and beverage sales, there will be live music on two stages, street performers, face painting, henna tattoos and a Kid City complete with rides, games and kid-focused performances.

First Sunday Afternoons at Presidio Tunnel Tops in San Francisco

Starting this Sunday, Presidio Tunnel Tops will be hosting free all-ages outdoor music and food events every first Sunday of the month through November. The First Sunday Afternoons concerts feature Presidio Pop Up food vendors, public art and live performances on the community stage. The lineup for this Sunday includes a DJ set and music performance from Hip Hop for Change artists and flamenco music plus a dance performance as part of a World Arts West Dance Series.

World Dog Surfing Championships in Pacifica

Ok, this one we really want to see. Local and international dog surfers (yes, you read that right), plus amateurs to the sport, will converge on Pacifica this weekend for the World Championships for Dog Surfing. Whether or not you have a pup ready to hit the waves, this should be an epic event for spectators. Besides the surf competition, there will be a dog beach fashion contest, dog adoptions and more. The event also supports dog charities such as the Peninsula Humane Society and Rocket Dog Rescue.

FoodieLand Night Market in Berkeley

The East Bay horse-racing track, Golden Gate Fields, is hosting a FoodieLand Night Market this weekend, which is billed as a multi-cultural food and entertainment event with over 150 vendors and a wide variety of foods to try (yum) - plus arts, crafts, games and family-friendly entertainment. Tickets are $7; kids under five years old get in free. Parking is $10 at both the Buchanan Street and the Gilman Street entrances, or there's a shuttle from the North Berkeley Bart Station to Golden Gate Fields. There's also free bicycle parking (bring your own lock) and a designated Lyft/Uber drop-off area through the Buchanan Street entrance.
