A new rooftop bar with big views across Mission Bay is expected to open by the end of next month. It's called Cavaña, and it resides on the 17th floor of Luma Hotel San Francisco at 100 Channel Street, which is just across Mission Creek Channel from Oracle Park. Cavaña will allow guests to eat, drink, and get a panoramic look at the downtown skyline and the Bay.

The concept of the rooftop venue leans heavily on Latin culture and brings flavors from both Central and South America, as well as the Caribbean. Eater reports that guests can expect to see Latin-leaning cocktails that feature sugar-cane and agave distillates while celebrating flavors like feijoa, which tastes like a mixture of strawberry, guava, and pineapple, or uchuva, a golden berry native to Colombia. There will also be cocktails infused with purple corn, yerba mate, and mole. If you’re looking to fill an empty stomach, Cavaña has you covered there as well, with shareable plates that offer tasty Latin items.

Cavaña has a lot of experience from the team curating the venue. According to Eater, the brilliant bar-minded twin brothers behind Beehive, Emilio and Miguel Salehi are collaborating with Cavaña co-owner and operator Anthony Parks on the cocktail menu. Eater also reports that John Park, whose hospitality business also runs nearby rooftop destination Kaiyo Rooftop, and who also co-owns Whitechapel and Novella, is also a co-owner and operator here as well.

The ownership team is planning to feature live music from Latin DJs, along with live bands and solo artists. An exact opening date for Cavaña has not been officially set.
