
On Friday, a daring LEGO heist led to the arrest of four East Bay residents at the Hillsdale Shopping Center in San Mateo. They apparently stuffed $3,500 worth of the beloved plastic bricks into their rented Volkswagen Jetta getaway car, booked through a third-party app. As fate would have it, these less-than-seasoned criminals were quickly captured due to a vigilant LEGO Store employee who tipped off the police, leading to their dramatic apprehension in San Francisco later that day.
