Dr. Rachandeep Singh, a prominent Northern California doctor who held the position of medical director at multiple medical facilities in Sacramento and Stockton areas, was arrested on suspicion of felony sexual battery on June 17, 2023, at the San Francisco International Airport (SFO), according to East Bay Times. The arrest came after an employee at the River Pointe Post-Acute Care Facility on Fair Oaks Boulevard accused Singh of touching her sexually against her will.

The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, which began investigating Singh on April 26, reportedly learned of his removal from the River Pointe facility by administration due to the allegations yet discovered he also oversaw at least two other facilities in the City of Stockton and the San Joaquin County area, as CBS News Sacramento reported. Following their investigation, the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office filed felony sexual battery charges against Singh, prompting the issuance of a warrant for his arrest. The doctor was subsequently taken into custody at SFO by San Francisco officers and booked into custody in San Mateo County.

Although Singh was released on bail the same day, detectives are continuing to explore the possibility of other potential victims, considering his influential position in several regions throughout the Northern California area. The Sacramento Sheriff's Office tweeted that due to Dr. Singh's role in numerous facilities, detectives are looking for other possible victims. Meanwhile, Singh is scheduled to appear in court in Sacramento on August 17, where his case will likely unfold over the coming months.
